Default NCSoft are frauds?

I got this game back in 2006. I have not played it in years. In fact, I've had different computers, operating systems and hard drives over the this time.

I downloaded the client, and now it's asking me for a character name. Of course, there's no way I'm going to remember some complex name I gave my character. Not when I know they have last names. This is impossible.

So I messaged tech support, and they tell me I need to look at a screen shot.

I reply back saying what I just told you, and I obviously no longer have screen shots.

They respond back saying I need to give them my address, my birthday, etc. I haven't heard from them in 2 days.

I have since sent 2 more emails every 12 hours, but I have not yet been able to play on the account I payed for.

The thing I don't understand is... all the questions they asked me are answerable by just having the login and password to my account. So why do they even insist on me asking them in the first place? I AM using the email address that I used when I paid for the game after all.

I just don't understand this security measure, that obviously wasn't there when I played before. It's locking me out of my own game, but it's laughable because I can login on my account on their website... so what security purpose does this actually serve? None. It is just a pain in the ass.

After 2 days when they've shown they are capable of responding in just a few hours, I have to conclude that they don't give a crap.

I seriously hate this company. This is kind of fraudulent where I can't access the game I payed for, especially when I know the login and password this account. It's absurd.

Would have been faster if you gave all the details in the first support ticket.Neither is it their fault that you can't remember a name. Higher security is due to hacking problems, so be thankful......And if you hate it so much and don't plan on playing it`, then why on earth do you come crying here for?
Reasonable support ticket would have contained: CD keys,country,bday,full name,login email,last login date.

So you blame them for you not knowing one of your own character names? ok.......

As this is not a whine/whinge/complain about anet/gw forum.. I'm going to close this thread - if you have any issue's with GW Support, you will need to take it up with GW Support, or discuss the matter with Gaile Gray - who is the Support Liason.
